ABOUT DOYLE

Right from our start in 1982, when Robbie Doyle established the first Doyle Sailmakers loft in Marblehead, Massachusetts, to today, with 50 Doyle lofts in 30 countries, Doyle Sailmakers has delivered a high degree of innovation, technology, value, and personal service to Doyle customers. As the company has grown into an international organization with worldwide resources, we've never forgotten that the measure of our success is not the size or our company but our clients' satisfaction.

Whether we're building racing or cruising sails, we strive for the right mixture of sailmaking art, science, and customer service. Local Doyle Superyacht lofts have access to the latest Doyle technology, such as computerized sail design, laser-cut panels, and exclusive Doyle-developed woven and laminate fabrics, yet the lofts are small enough that our hands-on sailmakers can give each customer the time and personal attention they need.

Doyle Sailmakers is committed to innovation and the evolution of sensible sailmaking technology. Founder Robbie Doyle, with a background in Applied Physics from Harvard University and a strong racing record in the America's Cup, has led the way with breakthrough products and sail design and engineering processes. Utilizing the hydrodynamic design advances behind the famous winged keel of America's Cup winner Australia II, Doyle Sailmakers was the first to apply the principle of Elliptical Aerodynamic Loading to sail shapes, leading to fast and efficient sails for Doyle's racing customers. Doyle's continual advances in racing sails include Code Zero asymmetric spinnakers, and Stratis, the ultimate evolution of load-path, laid-fiber sails.

Doyle Sailmakers has brought a similarly high level of innovation to cruising sails, such as QuickSilver (the first radial-cut, roller-reefing genoa with a luff-flattening device), and StackPack and Cradle Cover (the first self-stowing mainsail handling system).

Moving into the future, Doyle Sailmakers is more committed than ever to developing better sails. But the most important point on our timeline is right now, when we are helping each Doyle customer get the very best out of their sails.
